Daniel Our Malaysian Idol!

Nita and Daniel gave us a good show in Genting The Arena of Stars. Singing
their competition best and most memorable song thorughout the season. However, it is Malaysians'
votes and decisions, in a tight neck to neck sms vote count, Daniel emerged champion as the second
Malaysian Idol with a 68% of the 1.67 million votes that came in! Congratulations, Daniel.

All By Farah-self
Stepping into the eight and the last spectacular before the finale, the top 3 will now have to battle for the chance to be ONE step away from
winning the second Malaysian Idol title. On Friday night, Daniel, Farah and Nita sang songs from Puteri Gunung Ledang, The Lion King, Bridget Jones' Diary ... And
although belting out her competition's best performance All By Myself, Farah had to leave the competition after Daniel & Nita garnered more votes from fans.

Bilingual Classic Night
In this sixth spectacular, the top five Ash, Daniel, Farah, Faizull & Nita will sang 2 classics, one in Malay and
the other in English, to showcase their versatility and their potential to shine for local and internationaly market!
It was probably one of the best spectaculars so far in this season with Daniel gave a more than convincing pleasant performance in Angin Malam,
and Nita gave a naughty surprise with her Big Spender. Finally the tide has changed,
as two guys surprisingly became the bottom three with Farah. And finally, when it was down to Faizull and Ash, Ash's dream to become the second
Malaysian Idol finally crashed.

Rock Night with Jeff Timmons
In this fifth spectacular, the top six Adam, Ash, Daniel, Farah, Faizull & Nita rocked the stage. Unfortunately,
it was another disasterous rock week just like season 1, even though guest judge Jeff Timmons (former singer of US pop group 98 Degrees)
maintained his diplomatic comments throughout the show.
Rock night gave us an opportunity to see another side of Ash who took the night's best performance by his rendition of U2's With or Without
You. Farah gave a gutsy but messy Alanis Morrisette's You Oughta Know, while
Nita got the most harsh comments over her shaky peerformance. Many expected the night
belonged to Faizull but his diction ruined the English number (Don't Cry, ironic enough) by Guns N Roses. However, it was the lack of fanbase
plus his off performance on Friday which got Adam voted off.

Xerra took the Axe
In this fourth spectacular, the remaining seven performed great songs from our very own local songwriters. Three girls (Farah, Nita & Xerra)
and four guys (Adam, Ash, Daniel & Faizull) left, Xerra became the next casualty this week when Paul's prediction came through.

Ejay's Graceful Exit
With the exit of Azam, the remaining 8 finalists sang R&B Pop on this Friday night! However, Ejay being the only one called out with
no other two Bottom 3, was sent home in the end. Despite the unneccessarily harsh comments being passed by Roslan, Paul ... Ejay went down
the shake the judges' hands when she sang "All Around The World" for the last time in the competition.

Azam's Rose and fall
The second spectaculars saw a balance performance between all nine remaining finalists. However, the judges failed to
make a close prediction this time, the bottom three were Azam, Xerra and Nita. Terrified for a short while, Xerra was sent back
to the couch to join the rest. And between Nita and Azam, his performance with a rose did not help. Azam, the judges' pick
suffered the same fate as Sufiah of Season 1, when he failed to garner enough votes to stay another week.

Six wildcard contestants sang on Friday and the result were in on Sunday. Azam became the judges' pick, where the host managed
to pull a surprise when they tricked the viewers to believe that the highest votes went to one of the four - Lisa, Aesar, Fauzi
& Kash. However, evidently Adam won the highest number of votes. Both will now enter the spectaculars.[More]

Predictable wins by Farah, Daniel & Trish

The final workshop was overall a workshop with more balanced contestants all cramped into one to fight for 3 spots.
However, the judges were spot on in their predictions prior to the result was revealed. Farah, Daniel & Trish won Malaysian's
votes and joined the other six into the Spectaculars in two weeks time. [More]

Ejay, Ash & Nita make it six

Workshop 2 produced a result
which came to a shock to at least two judges as their top pick Adam didn't get as much vote and instead the spot was taken by Ash who underperformed
on Friday night. But that just goes to show that the Malaysian Idol viewers this season are really going after a total star package rather than singing
alone. [More]
